Abilene Regional
Airport Master Plan

Overview

Project Overview

Welcome to the Abilene Regional Airport (ABI) Master Plan project website. This website was created to provide a venue to distribute draft Master Plan materials to interested members of the public and to allow the public to provide input into the Master Planning process via the comment section of the website and at public open house meetings.

ABI is a commercial service airport that is owned and operated by the City of Abilene. This Airport Master Plan has been undertaken to evaluate the Airport’s current capabilities and role, to forecast future aviation demand, and to plan for the timely development of new or expanded facilities that may be required to meet projected demand. The ultimate goal of the Master Plan is to provide guidelines for the Airport’s overall maintenance, development, and operation in an environmentally and fiscally responsible manner for the next 20 years.

The Airport is of interest to many within the regional community, including residents, businesses, community organizations, airport users, and aviation organizations. The planning process will be closely coordinated with a Master Plan Steering Committee (MPSC) that is made up of government representatives, airport users and tenants, and local community representatives. The MPSC provides a critical function as they will provide direct input/feedback to the planning team throughout the Master Planning process.

Please download and review the draft materials as they become available in the Project Documents section of this website. If you have comments or questions regarding the Master Plan materials, please feel free to submit them to the planning team in the documents or comments section of the website. Comments received will be given due consideration during the preparation of the Master Plan.
